SURVEY OF THE IDON-Study ON NUTRITIONAL PRACTICE IN NON-DIALYSIS CKD PATIENTS
The ERN Working Group has launched a Survey aimed at identifying the clinical priorities in Nutritional Practice in non-dialysis chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients by gathering views from different Stakeholders involved in CKD care (Nephrologists, Nutritionists, Dietitians, Nurses and Patients). We invite you to actively participate in this Survey that should take no more than 20 minutes of your time to answer. You will be providing us with very useful information so that, with your help, we can develop best practice programs to improve the quality of care and outcomes of CKD patients. The Survey is available in several languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian). We appreciate if you could share this link with all your professional contacts and any national and international scientific and/or patients’ associations involved in the CKD care you are in touch with.

TESTING THE KNOWLEDGE ON NUTRITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS AND FOOD CHOICES FOR PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE
End-stage renal disease patients (ESRD) are in need of dietary instructions regarding food choices to maintain an adequate supply of protein and energy and to reduce dietary intake of phosphorus, sodium, potassium, and fluids.
Patient’s compliance with these instructions depends on appropriate advice by healthcare professionals. Recent reports in small surveys suggest, however, that physicians and nurses at the Nephrology boards do not often hold the correct information with regards to dietary management in ESRD.
Juan Jesús Carrero (Sweden), Karyn Zlatkis (Spain) and Carla Avesani (Brazil) created 15 “easy” questions on these issues to test the knowledge in nutritional recommendations in ESRD. We are certain that many of you will NOT answer them correctly.
More than 1000 users completed the survey!
