AIMS

AIMS of the working group:
a.
To promote and organize pan-European research in the field of Renal Nutrition. We envisage the following initiatives to achieve this aim:
 
1.
Create a repository of existing European clinical materials and network of investigators in the field of renal nutrition. This “ERA-EDTA Renal Nutrition Catalogue” will be an online collection of standard information describing available European cohorts and intervention studies in the field of renal disease for joint collaborative analyses.
 
2.
Initiate a prospective collection of patient cohorts and biobanks with harmonized protocols. Initiate interventional trials focused on renal nutrition management strategies and outcomes
b.
To improve and to disseminate knowledge in the field of Renal Nutrition. We envisage the following initiatives to achieve this aim:
 
1.
Collaborate with other sections of the ERA-EDTA such as potentially the European Renal Best Practice (ERBP) group, the ERA-EDTA registry and the EURODOPPS initiative to revisit clinical practice recommendations.
 
2.
To collaborate on educational activities on renal nutrition within the ERA-EDTA, including i) annual working group meetings, ii) position papers and review articles, iii) CME or pre-¬congress courses.
c.
To collaborate with other working groups on nutritional initiatives that can impact on their themes. To work with the Young Nephrologist Platform promoting supervision, research exchanges, clinical training and educational activities for young researchers and practitioners in the field of Renal Nutrition. Finally and overall, to stimulate joint initiatives with other European and International Societies in the field of Renal Nutrition.
